Hello
Welcome! I’m a seasoned professional with expertise in software development, focusing on .Net frameworks and SQL Server, paired with a rich academic background in International Security Studies. Beyond my professional and academic pursuits, I’m a passionate worldbuilder and storyteller, crafting immersive narratives and settings showcased in my creative portfolio.
My Story
I was born and raised in the rugged landscapes of Southern Arizona, where the sun-drenched desert and boundless skies became the backdrop of my early explorations into creativity, history, and technology. My supportive and encouraging parents fostered a home filled with a love of knowledge and a passion for stories. My father, a dedicated historian, and an avid war gamer, played a pivotal role in shaping my interests, introducing me to the world of war gaming and fantasy role-playing from a young age. These experiences sparked a lifelong love for strategy, storytelling, and the immersive worlds of role-playing games that have remained close to my heart.
Over the years, my curiosity expanded to encompass music, and I found myself fascinated by various instruments. I took up the flute, oboe, and double bass, and most recently, I even learned to play the eight-course Renaissance lute.
I still call Southern Arizona home today, sharing my life with my wife, Taylor, and our daughter, Thistle. Together, we embrace the beauty of the Southwest, enjoying family camping trips and spending time outdoors whenever possible.
Despite a busy life, I continue to nurture my passion for role-playing, particularly live-action role-playing (LARP), which lets me immerse myself in different personas and narratives, bringing my love for fantasy to life socially and engagingly.
At heart, I am a person who values curiosity, exploration, and the joy of shared stories and experiences, whether through family adventures, historical games, or a well-played lute melody. These elements have defined my journey so far and continue to shape my world, adding richness to my life in big and small ways.
